Commercial Litigation
Litigation is not necessarily the first course of action that business people would pursue when a dispute arises with a business partner, customer, vendor or other party. After all, commercial litigation can be time consuming, emotionally draining and expensive. However, sometimes a lawsuit is the inevitable result of the intractable positions of the parties involved. It is on those occasions that our clients rely on us to provide skillful and zealous representation in an effort to bring about a satisfactory result.
Recent cases include:
- Successfully defended a premier Manhattan nightclub in a federal lawsuit in which the plaintiff claimed that "ladies' nights" constituted a violation of his Fourteenth Amendment rights.
- Structured a favorable settlement for a client wrongfully denied her bonus by her employer.
- Handling a complex, multi-party commercial dispute for a manufacturing client involving alleged accounting irregularities, self-dealing and breaches of contract and fiduciary duty.
- Representing a hedge fund analyst in an arbitration relating to the improper withholding of his bonus.
